Chinese Culture
Real estate expert Yoram Eliyahu is no stranger to international relations. A native of Israel and a longtime resident of New York, Yoram Eliyahu is a top tier real estate mogul and Jewish activist, whose efforts have spanned the globe. One of his more recent ventures involves the country of China.
China holds a particular interest to Yoram Eliyahu, who is of an Orthodox Jewish background. The Chinese culture involves a strong connection to family and country, and is highly traditional. Many of the standards of Chinese culture span hundreds, if not thousands of years. With a focus on family, education and tradition, Eliyahu seeks a striking similarity to his own Jewish culture.
The deep respect for family ties, the workplace, education and money that keeps China on the cusp of the growing world market can be seen in Jewish traditions as well. They also share many of the same stereotypical racial traits. Are the Chinese clever? Are the Jews good with money? Are both groups hard working, with an eye to achieve? The answer all around is yes, the Chinese are clever and the Jews are good with money (and vice versa.) While these stereotypes are not always correct, the overwhelming perception of the groups is highly similar.
Yoram Eliyahu also points out the high levels of accountability and solid expectations to which individuals from both cultures are held. In many cases this leads to a large percentage of the population in high level positions and achieving to their fuller potential. The very qualities that Yoram Eliyahu admires within his own culture are reflected in that of China.
