Education

As a father, real estate developer and investor Yoram Eliyahu takes education seriously.

Code of Honor

One of the many things that drew Yoram Eliyahu to China is its strong educational system and the cultural focus on education. China’s educational system is a state-run public school system, requiring at least 9 years of education for each student. Following the Cultural Revolution of the 1960’s-70’s, the Chinese education system has been focused largely on economic modernization. Within the nation, education is seen as extremely important and parents are often willing to go to great lengths to ensure that their children receive the best education possible through specialized classes or higher education available via shared-cost programs. Yoram Eliyahu admires this conviction, and feels a kinship to these parents, as his children attend specialized Yeshiva schools.

Yoram Eliyahu is an expert in the real estate field, and also a Jewish advocate. His work has brought him around the world, and he has a unique understanding and appreciation for other world cultures. He was deeply impressed by the ideals found in traditional Chinese culture, and draws comparisons to his own Jewish heritage.

Also impressive to Yoram Eliyahu is the willingness of the Chinese youth to accept western culture. International exchange programs are expanding each year, with more Chinese students studying abroad than any other nation since 1979. Similarly, there has been a marked increase in foreign students studying in China, embracing their national culture.

The Chinese government had committed itself to furthering educational goals within the country. It is projected that by the year 2020, there will be a less than 3% rate of illiteracy or semi-literacy within the country. It is these goals and priorities that have drawn Yoram Eliyahu to his business interest in China.
